현대자동차의 셔클 팀과 다시 만나 함께 브랜드 일러스트레이션을 작업했습니다. 셔클은 인공지능을 기반으로 최적경로를 생성하는 수요응답형 버스로 세종시, 서울시 은평구, 파주시 등 교통이 불편한 지역에서 운영되고 있었는데요, 올해 초 경기도 ‘똑타’ 서비스에도 셔클이 제공되었고 킥보드 서비스도 추가되면서 통합 모빌리티 서비스로 더욱 확장되고 있습니다.
Studio roam worked on a brand illustration with the Shucle team to develop a brand illustration for Hyundai Motor Company's innovative ride-pooling service. Shucle is a demand-responsive bus service that uses artificial intelligence to generate optimal routes. Initially operating in areas with limited transportation options, such as Sejong, Eunpyeong-gu, and Paju. Shucle is expanding into integrated mobility services by launching a DRT service in Gyeonggi-do in early 2023 and introducing a scooter service.
VI 개발 시 만들었던 단순하고 귀여운 형태의 아이콘이 있었지만 다양한 상황을 일관성 있게 표현하기에는 부족했고, 좀더 세련되고 스마트한 이미지로 변화할 필요가 있었습니다. 우리는 지역 커뮤니티를 기반으로 새로운 교통문화를 만들어가는 모빌리티 서비스 셔클의 안전하고 스마트한, 세련되면서도 친근하고 밝은 브랜드 이미지를 일러스트레이션 스타일에도 그대로 연계하였습니다. 친근하고 직관적인 스타일, 정교한 형태와 안정적인 구도, 브랜드 에셋과 연계된 선명한 시각요소를 사용하여 일관성있게 확장 가능한 스타일과 시스템을 만들고자 했습니다.
We aimed to elevate the brand image of Mobility Services Shucle, which previously used simple icons, to a more polished and refined level. To achieve this, we aligned the brand image with a new illustration style that exudes the qualities of safety, intelligence, sophistication, and vibrancy.
Through our efforts, roam created a style and system that can consistently scale while maintaining a friendly and intuitive feel. We achieved this using stable compositions with clear and visually appealing elements.

셔클을 함께 이용하는 지역 커뮤니티의 선량한 구성원들을 연령별 페르소나에 따라 자유롭고 편안하며 세련된 스타일로 표현하였으며, 셔클의 다양한 모빌리티, 다양한 날씨의 환경과 사용되는 기기들의 일러스트 소스를 작업했습니다. 자유곡선과 직선이 조합된 형태의 평면적인 일러스트레이션은 다양한 요소의 조합을 용이하게 하며, 브랜드 컬러와 함께 어우러져 셔클의 세계관을 더욱 선명하게 확장시킬 것입니다.
Shucle's users, valued local community members, are represented in comfortable and refined styles catering to different age groups. The illustrations include Shucle's diverse modes of operation, weather conditions, and devices. By combining free curves and straight lines, the flat illustrations allow for the easy incorporation of various design elements. They also complement the brand's color palette, contributing to Shucle's distinctive visual identity.
